We visited on the 28th October. Pricey for underwhelming food. It was a shame as we really looked forward to some good fish food. We had mussels but waitress forgot to bring bowl for cleaning fingers. Green beans with main were tough and plate of food which looked underwhelming. Food tasted ok but could have been better.
Another wow from me. Fish was excellent. Local beers on offer and outstanding flavours of lemon Sole. Side salad with the sweet dressing complimented the lemon. Mackerel pate was lovely and plenty of fresh bread to accompany it.
We had seafood tapas starter...gorgeous...hubby had brill fillet i had cornish trio...this was all so so good..beautifully cooked can't fault a thing...hoping we can book for last night of holiday on Saturday...but what to have....all local and freshly cooked.....
Good quality fish restaurant, with lots of fishy options. Was busy but we managed to get a table. Good salmon fillet, not too big. They do burgers as well which is another option. Worth a visit if you are in Penzance. Make sure you book a table or you might not get in.
Great service, and good choice of food at a decent price. Plenty of seating indoors, and a nice outside area if the weather permits.
Called in for a coffee and rest. Lovely quirky cafe and great coffee.
Ordered an expensive Dover Sole as a treat but was shocked by the small size of the motley grey flatfish served. Didn’t think it looked like a Dover Sole but phone photo recognition didn’t come up with any alternative. On arriving home I compared photos of ‘Sole’ and can categorically confirm that the fish served was a Megrim Sole (never heard of it) not a Dover Sole. Total rip-off. Wish I had questioned the staff at the time but didn’t want to make a fuss. Subsequently found out a Megrim is not even a true sole. Extremely disappointing.
